If you don’t like gay stuff- you’re in the wrong place!
With a focus on bold color, texture, and unapologetic expression, New York-based artist Brad Ouellette explores themes of queer identity, sensuality, and pop culture through mixed-media collage and graphic design. Originally trained in graphic arts, Ouellette merges his background in design with a maximalist aesthetic, creating work that is both provocative and playful.
His recent Paper Porn series, presents a vibrant and unapologetically queer take on contemporary collage, featuring one-of-a-kind compositions that blend erotic silhouettes, geometric forms, and layered visual storytelling. After trying his hand at rug tufting, Brad realized his paper designs could be reimagined into decorative rugs- giving a whole new medium to create fun, tactile art to gay up any space. Each piece is entirely unique, offering viewers a glimpse into the artist’s evolving vision; blurring the boundaries between fine art, personal narrative, and social commentary.
Ouellette’s work has been featured at Nordstrom NYC, appeared in many bathrooms across Fire Island Pines, various queer homes & spaces, and independent galleries throughout New York City, resonating with audiences drawn to its energy, irreverence, and emotional honesty. Through both digital and physical formats, his art invites connection, curiosity, and celebration of LGBTQ+ creativity in its rawest form.
